Today, many of the children of God have made the Sabbath day of none effect through the traditions of men and our doings, but is that how God envisioned the Sabbath? Early in the Word of God the children of Israel were commanded in Exodus 31:16 that the Sabbath Day would be a perpetual covenant for them. It says, "Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant." And because of how Jesus continued to honor and reverence the Sabbath, we see all that God envisioned for it to accomplish. And I believe God never ended this perpetual covenant with the children of Israel for it is one way His name is hallowed in the earth.

Jesus instructed in the Lord's prayer that we pray, "Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name." But what does it mean to hallow His name? To give us a better understanding, let's look at various Bible versions of this scripture for a deeper and more precise meaning. The CSB version says, "Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy." And the CEV version of the same verse says,"...Our Father in heaven, help us to honor your name."
ישוע הורה בתפילת האדון שנתפלל, "אבינו שבשמים, יתקדש שמך". אבל מה המשמעות של לקדש את שמו? כדילהבין טוב יותר, בואו נסתכל על גרסאות תנ"ך שונות של פסוק זה לקבלת משמעות עמוקה ומדויקת יותר. גרסת ה-CSB אומרת, "לכן עליכם להתפלל כך: אבינו שבשמים, יתכבד שמך כקדוש". וגרסת ה-CEV של אותו פסוק אומרת, "...אבינו שבשמים, עזור לנו לכבד את שמך".
Therefore, to hallow His Name is to honor His name; to keep His name holy; and to keep His name sanctified on the earth. It is also to set apart His Name as holy and to respect or honor greatly the Name of the Lord. And God connected the Word Sabbath to hallow for He instructs in Ezekiel 20:20 saying, "Hallow My sabbaths." Hence, when we hallow His Sabbaths and the Sabbath day-we are fulfilling also hallowing or bringing great respect and reverence to His Name. For remembering the Sabbath day and keeping it holy is one of God's ways of hallowing His Name and keeping it holy on the earth.
לכן, לקדש את שמו פירושו לכבד את שמו; לשמור את שמו קדוש; ולשמור את שמו מקודש על הארץ. פירושו גםלהבדיל את שמו כקדוש ולכבד מאוד את שם ה'. ואלוהים חיבר את המילה שבת לקדש, כי הוא מורה ביחזקאל כ', כ', "קדש את שבתותיי". לפיכך, כאשר אנו מקדשים את שבתותיו ואת יום השבת, אנו מקיימים גם קידוש או מביאים כבודויראת כבוד גדולים לשמו. כי זכרון יום השבת ושמירתו קדושה היא אחת מדרכיו של אלוהים לקדש את שמו ולשמורוקדוש על הארץ.
It is notable that God didn't associate the Word hallow with every instruction He commanded. This tells us to pay attention for it was sparsely used. And when He did use the term hallow, it was a special instruction to His people. For example, in Exodus 40:9 we see the holy anointing oil was a hallowed thing. It says, "And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy." So when the holy anointing oil was applied in the tabernacle and all the vessels they all became holy to the Lord. And even today-we still view the Holy Anointing oil as holy, however we must ask ourselves-why don't we view His Sabbath day with the same respect? Why don't we still view the Sabbath day as holy when Jesus clearly respected it as holy?

Thank God for all His amazing grace He has rewarded us in this generation in regards to the Sabbath. But as individuals, let us return to honoring His Word of remembering the Sabbath and keeping it holy. Let us do our part and hallow His name so that His name will always be respected on the earth.
תודה לאל על כל חסדו המדהים שגמל לנו בדור הזה בכל הנוגע לשבת. אבל כפרטים, הבה נחזור לכבד את דברו שלזכרון השבת ושמירתה קדושתה. הבה נעשה את חלקנו ונקדש את שמו כדי ששמו תמיד יכובד עלי אדמות.
Prayer:
Father, as we honor and lift Your name on high, let us do our part to continue to hallow Your name in the earth. Father, forgive our sins and errors. Help us to move pass hurts and disappointments and do this for You. Father, bind the devil that is coming against our children and we ask You Holy Spirit-stir up their spirits to desire to be in the House of the Lord on Your Sabbath day. Father, we need Your help. Draw Your people, and direct us, oh Lord, to do Your will regarding the Sabbath on this earth. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
