Wait For His Voice, Before You Decide
I Kings 19:11-13
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
Glory to God. Like Elijah, we must stand before the Lord to endure what comes against us. Standing before the Lord represents a life that trusts in Him and remains connected with Him no matter what the situation. It's a life that waits to hear what He says about a situation before we act. The Lord wanted Elijah to know He didn't wait for His voice in the situation that was before Him. He heard the voice against Him, but He didn't seek God to hear His voice about matter.
We know Elijah was accustomed to hearing the voice of the Lord, but this time fear caused him to detour from His pattern, and He acted and responded based on the flesh because He didn't wait to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. He didn't wait for His Word, His direction, and His comments about the issue. And for that reason, Elijah found himself in a place of desperation, despair, and ready to give up because He decided the action plan before hearing from the Lord what the true action plan was.
You will be tempted in life to go forward and make many decisions before hearing the still small voice of God. Your action plan will say do this, but did God endorse it? Your action plan will say choose this person, but what did God say? Your action plan can say stay somewhere when the will of God says go. For when God speaks, it settles things in our spirit and it brings us rest and peace. But when we follow our own way, surely we come to a place where God says how did you get here?
Recently the Holy Spirit spoke again for the world to take heed regarding Ukraine for this is another country in a very short time that has been severely challenged. Before the war they were living life as we are and basically living in peace. They too were making plans, going places, and doing life. But a threat came, and God did give notice of the threat. But many carried on and ignored the sound of the threat.
Today, it doesn't matter if you're rich or poor. No one is boasting in what they have or have accomplished. Does it matter whose a star or the next rising star? Does the value of their home and all that's in it matter? Is anyone caring about appointments, beauty, and going to the mall to shop? Who is caring about the status of the one next to them or who lives in a mansion vs who's homeless? Within one week everything they worked for and built was either ripped away or reduced, and life was not what it was the week before. Now all the people-no matter rich or poor-are in the exact situation-dealing with a threat.
Beloveds we never know when a threat will arise-in our country, or in your life. Therefore the Holy Spirit is teaching stay connected with the Holy Spirit and listen to hear His voice. The most important thing is hearing the voice of God, because it guides You in the midst of threats. It tells you which way to go, and the portion for your life. Refocus your time and energy, and don't waste all your time investing in things God can allow to be uprooted in a week. Take heed to this saying. But invest your time in developing your ear to hear God and His voice will navigate your path for good no matter what He allows.
Prayer:
Father, we thank you. You are the God that created all things, yet You give us the opportunity to personally hear Your voice. Father, many have threats against them today. Let them hear a Word from you. Many weapons are being formed all around us, let us hear a Word from you. For some, this is Your Word and voice. Father, bless us today and let Your goodness and mercy be our strength. Lord, let good things happen for us and make a way for us if there is no way. Open doors for us that no one will open. Father, help us overcome the things we struggle with and mature us into the people you want us to be. Help us not to ignore your voice when you speak for You are always right. Now Lord, cover us in the blood of Jesus. Keep us safe and sound, but not only is but people all over who are crying out to You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
You are blessed! Go in peace!
