Psalm 33:4-5
Psalm 84:11-12 (KJV)
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Psalm 85:7-8;12
7 Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
Psalm 18:48
He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Matthew 12: 6-7; 10-13
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
Glory to God. Glory to God. We praise the Lord for all His goodness towards us, and we praise Him that His mercy endures forever. The Lord covered a lot of ground this morning, so I will relay to you by the Spirit of Lord to the best of my ability. He started out in Isaiah 50 saying, “Hearken to Me you who follow after righteous.” To hearken means to listen to Him, obey, and follow His direction. He then repeated the verse how He Will comfort us and all our waste places. He said, “He called you alone, and blessed you, and increased you.” The Lord has taken upon Himself to bless and increase you-not for you to bless and increase yourself. He is the Lord, and He’s fully capable of taking care of all His beloved children.
He then proceeded to Psalms to remind of His Word. He says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.” The Father sees you and has promised to withhold no good thing from you who walk uprightly. If He hasn’t released it-it’s not a good thing yet. If He’s blocking it-it’s not a good thing yet; if He canceled it-it’s not a good thing yet. When the time comes for the good things of the Lord to be released in your life-they will come, and if He’s withholding something-it hasn’t manifested into the good thing He wants it to be for you "yet", or He’s waiting for you to walk uprightly before His face-or both. This is an evil time; thank God for what He withholds when He withholds it for He is wisdom.
Therefore, if you want to remain blessed-Trust in the Lord and trust in His decisions and judgments for your life. Trust that He loves you too much to withhold good for you when it’s time. Trust that He has your best interest at heart, and He sets us in the way of His steps for our lives. Hear what the Lord is speaking over your life. He will speak peace to His people and to His saints. If you don’t have peace, it’s a problem with that path. If your soul isn’t at peace-hear what God is speaking to your soul. He said, “He will speak peace unto His people.” Your peace today is knowing it shall be well with you!
Surely His salvation is nigh to them that fear him so glory may dwell in our land.
The Lord shall give that which is good. That’s His portion for you. Good is coming to You, and His good is what He’s declared. Will there be a shaking in the land? It most certainly will, but through the shaking remember-1)Surely His salvation is nigh to them that fear Him. 2) No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. 3) He will speak peace unto His people. 4) The Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for Your Words of encouragement this morning. Thank you for reminding us your salvation is nigh because we fear you. Thank you Lord for emphasizing if it’s being withheld-it hasn’t manifested to your definition of good yet-trouble is somewhere. Let us understand Your Hands know what to release, and Your Hands know what to hold back-there are no mistakes with You. When it’s good, you approve. But when it’s not, Your hand will shift. Help us oh God to trust in You more than we place trust in ourselves for You have spoken peace, and released Your good over us. Continue Father, to cover us by the blood of Jesus and keep us all safe and sound. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
You are blessed! Go in peace!!
Psalm 77:14
14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever. There will be times in life, you may fall into a pit. It could be a pit of stagnation, depression, disobedience, sickness, going backwards-or just a pit in life where it seems like all hell is breaking loose and you just don't know what to do.
Moreover, some pits regard your walk with Christ, your commitment to the things of God, or your simple trust in Him. You may desire to do the things of God, but you're having difficulty accomplishing what God has told you to do. Why? Pits are hard to overcome alone and anyone who falls into a pit will require some level of help to get them out-and Jesus knows this.
If you are experiencing a pit or a pitiful situation in life-don’t condemn yourself for Jesus isn’t condemning you. As a child of God-when you fall into a pit-Jesus has committed Himself to lift you out. He is your helper! Pitfalls will arise in life, and our text today tells us how Jesus respond to your pits or pitiful situations. It says, “What man shall there be among you, that shall have ONE sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will He not lay hold on it, and lift it out?” The scripture goes on to say, "How much then is a man better than a sheep?”
When you’re in a pit, expect Jesus to react the same way for He is the same Jesus. If you're the one man, woman, or child-expect Jesus to come and lift you out of your pit. It doesn't matter how deep the pit is or how low you have fallen in it-there will come a day that when Jesus will lift you out! For He knows the pit is a dark place; a lonely place; a fearful place; and a place where you can't determine when or how help will arise. But Jesus said, "How much then is a man better than a sheep?”
In the eyes of Jesus you are worth lifting out! I know it seems as if His help won't come, but wait on Him for it is written blessed are all those who wait on Him! Jesus loves you too much to leave you in the pit or a pitiful situation for a pit is not your portion. And for anyone who has been in a pit before-it looked liked Jesus wouldn't come, but your life is a testimony of His many listings out of pit after pit. And if He hasn't arrived to the situation yet He sends His Word before His arrival to encourage you through His voice of these devotions which say, "I'm coming! My help is on the way!" You may not be able to see Jesus yet, but you can hear Him because in a pit we can't see who or what is coming because our vision is obstructed by the pit. However, we have the ability to hear His voice through His Word that His help is on the way.
Therefore, we can't neglect that some pits are designed so we experience the God of wonders. Psalms 77:14 says, "Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people." Our God whose name is Wonderful is the God that does wonders. Thus, this includes doing something wonderful in your life. The same God who knows about the pit is the same God who does wonders in your life. In Jesus name, know the God of wonders rescues us out of the pits and in turn gives us His wonderful. I know you can't see it when you're in the pit-but if you look back over your life and consider all the goodness of God, I believe you can testify that some of the most dreadful pits somehow were turned into something wonderful. In Jesus name, I believe the God of wonders whom we serve-has a wonderful ending for each and every pit of your life! Have faith in God.
Father,
We praise You today, and we ask for Your mercy today. We receive Your mercy for all the things we can’t get right on our own and the pits we find ourselves in. Lord, help us today. We have no other help but You. Father, for all stuck in any kind of pit-Lord, we ask in Jesus name-please come speedily and lift us out. Do well to us today, and restore every part that has been withered or broken through life. You have other children that are whole so Lord, Give us wholeness in the places we are broken just as you have done for Your other children. Every part of our lives that is withered in any form-God of wonders send showers of blessings, and marvelous wonders. Lift us out, do well to us, and restore us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
You are blessed today! Go in peace!!
1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Glory to God. We praise the Lord for blessing us to step into the last month of the year. The Holy Spirit gave this text again from Psalm 124 and wanted to revisit a devotion written earlier. I pray this devotion will speak to you and whatever you must face this day in Jesus name. Your Help is in the Call.....
There are 23,145 verses in the entire Bible, and only 7 which reference the word overwhelmed. Yet in the last few weeks, God has centered on specific scriptures involving being overwhelmed. Even yesterday after I wrote the devotion, the next chapter He led me to was Psalm 124, and I was surprised to see the word "overwhelmed" again. This tells me the Holy Spirit is concerned with what you're feeling and it's grieving Him greatly. He wants to help you if you will just allow Him to today.
In our text today, the Holy Spirit is saying, "The Lord is on your side. Men won't be able to overtake you or destroy you. Situations won't be able to defeat you because God won't give you as a "prey" to the enemy. It may feel like you're going to be defeated, but just like Job, you will overcome. He is saying, "You will escape this too. Just like a bird escapes the snare of a fowler not knowing how, the Lord will help you to escape as well."
But let me tell you how you will escape this. Your help is in the name of the Lord. Why? Because Jesus has the answers to all your questions. He holds the solution to all problems. There is nothing in your life that is impossible WITH Him and He holds the way out or up to any issue. When you start feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to take 1 or 2 minutes, and just say the name Jesus. When the enemy rears his head to fight you, or new endeavors challenge you-call Him. Call Him over, and over. Why? Our HELP is in the NAME of the Lord.
The scripture Isaiah 65:24 says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Acts 2:21 says, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." What will you be saved from? Whatever you need saving from at that moment. And this verse isn't exclusive only to salvation, but includes anything we need help with. When you are feeling overwhelmed, call on the name of Jesus because our help is in His name, and your true salvation is in His name. Glory to God!
That's our prayer today, to call His name. Our prayer today is simple: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
Just call His name all throughout the day, and watch Jesus manifest for you! Let Jesus hear your voice today. Call Him until He comes to you.
You are blessed today! Go in peace!
